Little notes. Better crochet moments.
Beginner tips, pattern ideas, thoughtful details and inspiration from behind the scenes at Mivooli—made to help your next amigurumi project feel a little clearer and more enjoyable.
Small things that make a project easier.
Count before you continue.
Amigurumi shaping depends heavily on stitch counts. A quick count at the end of each important round can save you from discovering several rows later that something has shifted.
Let your tension stay comfortable.
Amigurumi usually benefits from firm stitches, but that does not mean your hands should hurt. Consistent, comfortable tension is more useful than forcing every stitch as tight as possible.
Stuff gradually.
Adding smaller amounts of stuffing as you work can help keep your character smoother and easier to shape than pushing in one large amount at the very end.
Finishing details change everything.
Eye placement, embroidery, stuffing and small finishing choices can give the same basic shape completely different personality. Slow down when you reach the details.
Inspiration is better when it ends with something you made.
